** Unwinding Ebay and Paypal **
Ebay programaticly suspends ebay user accounts and freezes paypal funds while researching issues. Paypal (ebay owns 20% of Paypal) funds are frozen for around 21 days with Paypal and Ebay earning interest. Ebay offers no telephone support.
Ebay business processes and lack of customer support have impacted many customers. A successful class action lawsuit was filed against Paypal in 2003 for frozen funds. A similar class action lawsuit is likely in 2009.

Thomasandtanga: how would the postman even know if it was an ebay package? It comes from a seller and goes to a buyer – there’s no discernable mention on the package that it is from eBay. What am I missing in your inferrence or anecdote?

I used to work at eBay before John Donahoe took the reigns and I can say that the way things are going, eBay will be completely out of business in the next 5 years. It has gone from the internet’s greatest marketplace into a joke. I’m glad I’m not working there anymore.
Ebay has canceled the 2009 event. I wonder what will happen for 2010? Anyone have any news on an ebay love 2010?
And I wonder when Ebay will host another Ebay LIVE…ha. Ebay management is too chicken-s*&+ to face their members after what they’ve done. The outburst in this video would be mild compared to what would spew forth from those that have been plowed under by Donahoe’s policies. There might even be a riot. That would be beautiful and would make big headlines..bring Ebay and their monopolistic bullying of the little people to the forefront for all to see.
True, and I would actually say that $17 is HIGH for this stock. It’s being driven up by hopefuls that believe some of Ebay’s acquisitions such as Paypal and Stubhub will carry it, but that’s like hoping that GM would be successful because it owned SAAB or Hummer. Those companies are subject to failure, too. Then there’s no CORE BUSINESS to hang their hats on.

Part 2. If eBay per share was worth $354.25, and is now currently trading at $18.24 a share, perhaps all the changes you’ve made to make eBay a better experience, (LOL!) isn’t quite the experience or outcome you were hoping for! What is eBay without sellers? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!

You!, meaning eBay, is currently trading a $18.24 a share. What happened? What went wrong? Don’t you miss the days when you, eBay, was trading at an all time high of $354.25 a share?
I’m an eBay seller since ‘98, 5,700+pos feedback @ 99.99%. How did eBay kill my willingness to promote the site to new sellers AND buyers? eBay made it VERBOTEN to pay w/ cash, ck OR money order. PAYPAL or credit card ONLY. Bye, bye to 15% of my business. To eBay management I say: You overpaid jerks have alienated your base by making eBay JUST LIKE all the rest. You killed the unique spirit that made eBay an event. I’ll make and spend my $’s elsewhere.

I will just charge AFTER it starts making money. Then you dont pay any ebay fees, just a monthly rental to me. Im looking for ink cartridges, and other stuff, but you must already be selling on ebay or somewhere, so we can understand each other. I will want money, but not like ebay.

I wanted to say also, as a buyer myself, The new search thing they do, you just cant find things anymore.. its just NOT user friendly.. they are going down, its just a matter of time.. If i had stock,,, I would sell it fast… before you loose all your money…
Ebay Sucks, after all the changes made I had to close my store, They said they lowered fees Ha.. they raised them, trying to fool us, thats when I new they were a horrible company not to mention paypal they own it.. They take all profits they make more than USPS,, They suck, my question is , is where are all the sellers moving to.. cuz im joining the bandwagon????

May be the case….but then again, perhaps they’re afraid people WILL show up. Since Ebay Live 2008 in June, policies have gotten even worse towards sellers. I’ve cleared out my inventory and don’t plan to be back – ever. And that’s $3500-4000/yr Ebay will not be getting. And I’m just one of many Ebay considers a “Small Fry”- but enough of us make a big difference, as evidenced by Ebay’s stock price and recent earnings reports.
no ebay 2009 or 2010 either.. hippy!!!.. Wow I sold 1 thing this month on ebay and my funds got held.. hahahah this venue sucks. I don’t know why I keep posting stuff for sale I’m wasting my time. Good thing I make 80 bucks an hour at the big 3.
