How much are the fees for selling on Amazon?

First, you shouldn’t have been charged anything. Amazon’s best aspect is that there are no fees for you unless your item sells.
Second, you should have gotten an email with subject something like: Item Listing Created on Amazon Market Place. It would have told you waht was listed, the comments you added, the selling price it listed for, Amazon’s commission if sold, and the shipping credit you receive if sold.
I just tested the commission price for a $40 book and it looks like it is $8.34, no matter how you ship.
